Thirty-four letters (59 p.) written from early March to 12 October 1897 between agents of the Alaska Commercial Co.: Otto W. Carlson at Unga, R.T. Lying and James M. Wilson at St. Michael, and N. Gray and Rudolph Neumann at Unalaska. The letters contain orders for merchandise, accounts of fur pelts shipped, and general accounts. Also included are 28 account documents (37 p.) that contain invoices, advice of drafts lists, and arrivals and departures of vessels.

The Alaska Commercial Company was founded shortly after the purchase of Alaska in 1867. Beginning as the Russian-American Company, the company assets were purchased by Hayward M.
